2002
Created and directed by Ross Desprez with musical direction by Tobin Stokes, Moodyville Tales features some of Victoria's finest folk musicians.
The cast included Kelt and Colleen Eccleston and recording artist John Gogo along with Mark Hellman, Adam Iredale, Patricia Leger, and Craig Moddle.
Canada has a rich, and often forgotten, history and Moodyville Tales aims to evoke a part of our past in song and story. On the eve of their departure to the rich goldfields of the Klondike, seven strangers, all from different parts of Canada, find themselves under the same roof. Nervous about the immense journey they have embarked upon and apprehensive of the hardships they will face, the seven come together to find comfort and kinship in their music and stories.
Moodyville Tales is suitable for the entire family and the wonderful songs will have you tapping your toes and humming along.
Moodyville Tales features the talents of Peter Pokorny (sets), Shawn Derksen (lights) and Erin Macklem (costumes). Valerie Houle is the Stage Manager. Following its run at the Belfry Arts Centre Moodyville Tales will be playing at The Chemainus Theatre from April 9 - 12.
Moodyville Tales is generously supported by The Vancouver Foundation and CRD Arts
